Cheaper drug tested to maintain leukemia control after stronger treatment
NCT ID NCT01316250
Summary
This study tested whether patients with chronic myeloid leukemia could switch from an expensive, powerful drug (nilotinib) to a cheaper, more convenient drug (imatinib) and still keep their cancer under control. Researchers enrolled 13 newly diagnosed adults. The goal was to see if the initial strong response could be maintained long-term with the less burdensome medication.
