New hope for tiny lungs: simpler treatment could save premature babies in africa

Summary
This study tests if giving surfactant (a lung medicine) through a less invasive method helps premature babies with breathing problems survive. About 1,500 babies weighing 750–2000 grams will receive this treatment in African hospitals without ventilators. Researchers will track survival and complications to see if this approach works better than standard care.
