First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested a new treatment called lerapolturev, a modified polio virus, alone or combined with an immunotherapy drug, in 27 adults with advanced melanoma that no longer responded to PD-1 inhibitors. The goal was to see if the virus could shrink tumors or improve survival. Participants received the treatment directly into tumors, and researchers monitored side effects and immune responses.
