Simple head turn may improve airway views in obese patients
NCT ID NCT07590739
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether turning the head 45 degrees to the left helps doctors see the vocal cords more clearly when placing a breathing tube in obese adults. Fifty patients with a BMI of 30 or higher will have their airway checked in two positions: the standard sniffing position and with the head turned left. The goal is to find a simple way to make intubation safer and easier for people with obesity.
