Heart ultrasound may predict hidden stroke risk

NCT ID NCT07224178

First seen Nov 04, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple, safe heart ultrasound can identify people at high risk for a second stroke when the first stroke had no clear cause. Researchers will measure how well the heart's upper chamber squeezes in 900 adults. If this test works, it could help doctors start blood thinners earlier to prevent more strokes, without needing to implant a heart monitor.
