NCT ID NCT07157176
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a daily 3-minute laughter practice (called a Laughie Prescription) could improve well-being, happiness, and post-traumatic stress in 50 nursing students who lived through the earthquake in Türkiye. Participants laughed for one minute in a group and then twice more on their own each day. The study measured changes using standard questionnaires for well-being, happiness, and PTSD symptoms.

- daily 3-minute laughter practice (Laughie Prescription)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to boost well-being and reduce stress after a traumatic event.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, completed trial with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to larger groups. The effects of laughter may be short-lived or hard to measure reliably.
