First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tested a new laser treatment for vulvar lichen sclerosus, a chronic skin condition causing itching, pain, and scarring. 66 women received either laser therapy or standard high-dose steroid cream. The goal was to see if the laser works as well as steroids. Results suggest laser therapy is a safe and effective option, potentially offering an alternative for those who cannot or prefer not to use steroids.
