First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested two treatments for lichen sclerosus, a skin condition that causes itching, burning, and pain in the genital area. Researchers compared a non-ablative CO2 laser treatment (3 sessions) to a strong steroid cream (clobetasol) used for 3 months. The trial involved 246 women and measured symptom relief at 3 months. Both treatments aim to control the disease, not cure it.
