Laser vs. shockwave: the battle to blast tough internal stones

NCT ID NCT07418112

Summary

This study is comparing two different tools doctors use to break up large or hard-to-treat stones in the bile duct or pancreatic duct. About 40 adults will have a standard ERCP procedure where their stone is broken up using either a low-power laser or a device that uses electrical shockwaves. The main goal is to see which method is better at completely clearing the stones and which is safer for patients.
