Eye surgery study tests which method causes less cloudy vision
NCT ID NCT05072977
Summary
This study compared two ways of removing the surface layer of the cornea during laser eye surgery (PRK) for nearsightedness and astigmatism. Researchers wanted to see if using the laser itself to remove this layer caused less corneal haze (cloudiness), less pain, and better vision recovery than the standard method using an alcohol solution. The trial involved 71 participants, with each person having one eye randomly assigned to each method for comparison.
