Light-Activated laser zaps gum disease bacteria in new dental trial

NCT ID NCT07080762

Summary

This study tested if adding a special light-activated laser treatment to standard deep gum cleaning works better for treating severe gum disease. Researchers compared the two approaches in 50 adults with severe periodontitis. The goal was to see if the laser helped kill more harmful bacteria and improved gum health more than cleaning alone.
