First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special laser microscope, used during a scope procedure of the kidney and ureter, can accurately tell normal tissue from tumors in the upper urinary tract. 29 adults with blood in urine, kidney stones, or other urinary issues took part. The goal was to see if this microscope could reduce the need for tissue biopsies, which can be difficult and risky.
