First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study compares a new superpulse thulium fiber laser to the standard holmium laser for breaking up kidney stones during a scope procedure. About 136 adults aged 18-70 with stones 6-20mm will be randomly assigned to one laser. The goal is to see which laser clears more stones, has fewer complications, and is easier for surgeons to use.
