Not open to general applications. Only people the study team invites can take part.
Paused
Paused for now. It may or may not start again.

Running, but no longer taking on new participants.
Completed This study
The trial has finished. Results may not be published yet.
Stopped early
Stopped early, before it reached the end. That can be for many reasons, including safety.
Cancelled
Cancelled before anyone took part.

Expanded access (not trials)

Expanded access
Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)
Not a trial. The treatment could once be requested outside a study, but no longer can.

Summary

Researchers at Al-Azhar University are testing whether a diode laser combined with a green dye and a remineralizing agent can reduce the surface area of white spot lesions on teeth. The trial enrolls 90 people aged 13 to 40 who have good oral hygiene and no other health conditions. Dentists apply the treatment, then take digital X-rays and use subtraction imaging to measure any change in the lesion size.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
a remineralizing agent applied with a diode laser and a green dye
What this could lead to
If it works, this could give dentists a way to shrink early white spot lesions without drilling, helping patients avoid fillings.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-center study with no phase label, so results may not hold up in larger groups. The laser and dye add time and cost, and some lesions may not respond.
