Keyhole vs open surgery for colon cancer: which is better?

NCT ID NCT05713903

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study compares two surgical techniques for removing right colon cancer: laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and open surgery, both using the complete mesocolic excision (CME) method. About 114 adults aged 18–90 with early-stage right colon cancer will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedures. The goal is to see which approach leads to better tissue removal quality and recovery outcomes.
