Tiny blood clues could unlock secrets of rare lung disease

NCT ID NCT07304856

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at tiny particles called extracellular vesicles in the blood of women with a rare lung disease called LAM, which can occur alone or with TSC. Researchers want to see if these particles can serve as biomarkers to help understand and track the disease. About 80 women will give blood samples during regular clinic visits, and the particles will be analyzed for size, number, and content. The goal is to find new ways to detect lung involvement earlier and better understand how the disease progresses.
