New combo therapy aims to stabilize AML longer

NCT ID NCT04190550

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This early-phase trial studies the safety and best dose of navtemadlin when added to standard chemotherapy (cytarabine and idarubicin) for people with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Navtemadlin blocks a protein that helps cancer cells grow. The goal is to see if the combination can keep the cancer stable longer than chemo alone. About 24 adults will take part.
