Knee injection study checks for hidden eye risk
NCT ID NCT07242846
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at whether two common steroid injections for knee arthritis have different effects on eye pressure. 80 adults with early knee osteoarthritis received either betamethasone or triamcinolone hexacetonide into the knee joint. Eye pressure was measured before the injection and one week later to see if it changed. The goal is to help doctors choose safer options, especially for patients at risk for glaucoma.
