First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding a genicular nerve block to a standard femoral nerve block helps reduce pain and the need for pain medicine after total knee replacement. 80 adults having knee surgery were randomly assigned to get either the standard block or the standard plus the extra block. The researchers measured how much pain medicine patients used in the first 24 hours after surgery.
