Teen Athletes' knee pain linked to weak core and tight hips, study finds
NCT ID NCT07326046
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at 75 elite teen track-and-field athletes, some with and some without knee pain, to see how their trunk, hip, and leg flexibility and balance differed. Researchers found that those with knee pain had weaker core muscles, tighter hips, and poorer leg function. The results suggest that knee pain in young athletes is not just a knee problem but involves the whole leg and core.
