Doctors use sound waves to track knee ligament recovery

NCT ID NCT06863077

Summary

This study aims to understand how well a specific knee ligament heals after a common surgical technique. Researchers will use a special type of ultrasound to measure the stiffness of the Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) in 30 patients before and after they have surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The goal is to see if the ligament fully recovers its strength after being gently loosened during the procedure to give the surgeon better access.
