Tape vs. pills: new study tests Drug-Free relief after wisdom tooth surgery

NCT ID NCT07353593

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested whether Kinesio Tape, a sticky tape placed on the skin, can reduce pain, swelling, and trouble opening the mouth after wisdom tooth removal as well as the steroid drug dexamethasone. Thirty adults had their lower wisdom teeth removed and received either the tape or the drug. The goal was to see if the tape could be a safe, side-effect-free option for recovery.
