First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests a new surgical method for removing large, branching kidney stones (staghorn calculi). It compares the new technique, which uses a flexible scope through the kidney, to the standard surgery. The goal is to see which method removes more stone fragments and causes fewer complications. About 420 adults with these stones will take part.
