Scientists test immune 'Gas Pedal' drug to fight tough kidney cancers

NCT ID NCT03092856

Summary

This study is testing if adding an experimental immune-stimulating drug (PF-04518600) to a standard cancer drug (axitinib) works better for controlling advanced kidney cancer that has spread. The trial involves 62 patients whose cancer worsened after prior immunotherapy. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the two-drug combination or axitinib with a placebo to see which approach better stops cancer growth.
