Scientists pinpoint best spot to test for ketosis
NCT ID NCT06053138
Summary
This study had two main goals. First, it checked if ketone (BHB) levels measured from a finger prick, earlobe, or vein give the same result, to find the best way to test. Second, it looked at whether being in a state of ketosis for two weeks changes levels of erythropoietin (EPO), a hormone that helps make red blood cells. Sixteen healthy adults participated, with some taking a ketone supplement and others a placebo.
