Ketone drink tested on cyclists: does it change how the body burns carbs?

NCT ID NCT06746805

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether drinking a ketone supplement before and during a 3-hour bike ride changes how the body uses carbohydrates for fuel. Twenty trained cyclists will complete two exercise sessions, once with the ketone drink and once with a placebo, to compare sugar burning rates. The goal is to understand the effects on exercise metabolism, not to treat any disease.
