NCT ID NCT04421014

First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a ketone ester supplement can improve how the brain uses energy and affects thinking in adults aged 55 and older who have metabolic syndrome but no memory problems. Participants took the supplement or a placebo for 28 days and had brain scans and cognitive tests. The goal was to see if the supplement could provide an alternative fuel for the brain, which might help in future research on Alzheimer's disease.
