Ketone drink fails to boost Post-Workout hormones in small study

NCT ID NCT06683547

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a ketone monoester drink (a supplement that raises blood ketones) changes hormone levels after a single workout. Twelve healthy young men did resistance exercise and then drank either the ketone drink or a placebo. The goal was to measure testosterone and growth hormone over four hours after exercise. The study was small and only for understanding, not for treating any condition.
