Low-Dose ketamine tested to ease pain after pregnancy surgery

NCT ID NCT06559280

Summary

This study tested whether a very low dose of the drug ketamine could help reduce pain sensitivity in the early days after surgery for ectopic pregnancy. Researchers enrolled 84 patients and randomly gave some a low dose of ketamine and others a placebo during their surgery to see if it made a difference in their pain experience afterward. The goal was to find a safe way to improve pain control and recovery for women undergoing this procedure.
