Karate classes could boost focus and social skills in kids with ADHD

NCT ID NCT07430436

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special karate program (Adaptive Karate Training) can help children aged 6–12 with ADHD improve self-regulation, daily functioning, and school quality of life. About 55 participants will either start karate right away or wait, then switch, so each child serves as their own comparison. The training involves two 60-minute sessions per week for two months, and researchers will measure changes in personal goals, walking while thinking, and executive function.
