New diabetes drug JY09 takes on dulaglutide in major trial

Summary
This study compares two doses of a new drug, JY09, with the existing drug dulaglutide in 600 adults with type 2 diabetes whose blood sugar is not well controlled by metformin alone. The main goal is to see how well JY09 lowers blood sugar levels over 26 weeks. Participants will continue taking metformin and receive either JY09 or dulaglutide as an add-on treatment.
