New shot tested for arthritis Flare-Ups

NCT ID NCT00522184

Summary

This study tested if an injection of a drug called etanercept directly into a painful, swollen joint could work better than a standard steroid injection for people with rheumatoid arthritis. It involved 34 adults who had a painful flare-up in a joint like the knee or wrist. The goal was to see which injection was more effective and safer for quickly reducing pain and swelling.
