Does bone paste in jaw surgery cause more infections?
NCT ID NCT02918344
Summary
This study aimed to find out if using calcium phosphate paste during jaw lengthening surgery leads to more complications like infections or the need to remove surgical hardware. Researchers followed 196 patients who had this corrective jaw surgery to compare outcomes between those who received the paste and those who did not. The goal was to see if the paste's benefits for stability and appearance are worth the potential risks.
