New jaw surgery technique aims to boost natural healing

NCT ID NCT07338136

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two surgical techniques leads to better bone healing after removing cysts or tumors from the jawbone. Surgeons will compare a newer 'split-thickness' flap, which leaves a healing layer attached to the bone, against the standard 'full-thickness' flap. The goal is to see if preserving this layer improves recovery, reduces pain, and helps the bone fill in better after surgery.
