New combo pill aims to tame tough leukemia without harsh chemo

Summary
This study tests the safety of combining ivosidenib and azacitidine in adults newly diagnosed with a specific genetic form of acute myeloid leukemia (IDH1-mutated AML) who are not healthy enough for intensive chemotherapy. About 245 participants will receive the drug combination and be monitored for side effects and how well the leukemia responds. The goal is to control the disease with a gentler treatment option.
