Summary

This small study tested the safety and effectiveness of the drug ivermectin for people with a skin condition called PKDL, which can appear after recovery from visceral leishmaniasis. Ten otherwise healthy adults with PKDL skin rashes took ivermectin pills for three months. The goal was to see if the drug could clear the skin lesions without causing serious side effects.
