New eye drop aims to take the sting out of sight-saving injections

NCT ID NCT05750589

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a new eye drop called IRX-101 can reduce pain and damage to the eye's surface after routine anti-VEGF injections for retinal disease. About 240 adults who get these injections will receive either IRX-101 or the standard iodine solution. The main goal is to see if IRX-101 makes the injection less painful and causes less irritation to the cornea.
