New iron drug may offer better anemia relief for kidney patients

Summary
This study tested whether a newer iron medicine (Ferric Carboxymaltose) works as well as a standard one (Iron Sucrose) for anemia in people with chronic kidney disease who are not on dialysis. 128 adults received one of the two treatments and were followed for 56 days. The goal was to see if the newer drug raises hemoglobin and iron levels more effectively and to check for side effects.
