New hope for rare blood vessel disease: experimental drug aims to keep patients in remission

Summary
This study tests whether adding iptacopan to standard treatment helps people with active ANCA-associated vasculitis (a rare autoimmune disease that inflames blood vessels) achieve and maintain remission. About 84 adults with newly diagnosed or relapsed disease will receive iptacopan or standard care plus rituximab. The goal is to see if iptacopan can reduce relapses and steroid side effects while improving kidney function and quality of life.
