Scientists turn skin and blood into insulin factories to fight diabetes
NCT ID NCT07479134
First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study takes a small sample of skin, blood, or urine from people with diabetes and healthy volunteers to create stem cells in the lab. These stem cells are then turned into insulin-producing cells to study how diabetes works and to pave the way for future cell-based treatments. The goal is to better understand beta cell function and develop personalized regenerative therapies.
