Stem cell sheets injected into the eye: a new hope for retinitis pigmentosa?

NCT ID NCT06891885

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests the safety of a single injection of lab-grown retinal sheets (made from stem cells) into one eye of adults with retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic condition that causes progressive vision loss. Twelve participants will be split into three groups based on their current vision level and the dose of the therapy. The main goal is to check for side effects, not to cure the disease.
