Experimental cell therapy targets hard-to-treat blood cancers

NCT ID NCT04155710

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tested a new cell therapy called IOV-2001 in 7 people whose chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma had stopped responding to standard treatments like ibrutinib. The therapy uses the patient's own immune cells, which are collected, processed, and given back along with a drug called IL-2. The main goals were to find the right dose and see if the treatment could shrink tumors.
