First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests if giving the antibiotic vancomycin directly into the bone during lumbar fusion surgery works as well as or better than the usual method through a vein. Thirty adults having spine surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. Researchers will measure antibiotic levels in blood, bone, and soft tissue, and check for complications after surgery.
