Nose spray during labor may slash postpartum depression risk

Summary
This study tests whether a single dose of a nose spray (dexmedetomidine) given before labor pain relief can lower the chance of postpartum depression (PPD). 270 women having a vaginal delivery will be randomly assigned to receive the spray or a placebo. The main goal is to see if fewer women develop PDD 42 days after giving birth.
