First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether a simple nasal spray (dexmedetomidine) given before an epidural can prevent fever during labor. About 446 women having a vaginal birth will take part. The goal is to find a safe, non-invasive way to reduce fevers that can happen with epidurals, improving comfort and safety for both mother and baby.
