Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether giving intestinal transplant patients stem cells from their organ donor can help them safely reduce the strong anti-rejection medications they must take. These powerful drugs prevent organ rejection but carry high risks of serious infections and cancer. The goal is to see if the donor cells can help the patient's body better accept the new organ, allowing for lower medication doses while still controlling rejection.
