Neck ultrasound may replace guessing in dialysis fluid checks
NCT ID NCT07438613
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests whether a quick ultrasound of the internal jugular vein in the neck can accurately tell doctors how much fluid a person on haemodialysis has in their body. About 100 chronic dialysis patients will be scanned before treatment. The goal is to see if this simple, painless method can replace more invasive ways of checking fluid status. There is no treatment involved, only observation.
