Aggressive cholesterol treatment may halt heart disease in younger patients
NCT ID NCT06896708
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether intensive cholesterol-lowering therapy (targeting very low LDL levels) can slow the growth of artery plaque in adults aged 18-60 with chronic coronary syndrome. About 766 participants will be randomly assigned to either intensive or standard therapy and monitored for plaque changes using CT scans. The goal is to see if a more aggressive approach prevents heart attacks, hospitalizations, or death.
