First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether keeping blood sugar tightly controlled after brain surgery can prevent surgical site infections. About 572 adults having elective brain surgery will be randomly assigned to either intensive insulin therapy (continuous infusion) or standard care. The main goal is to see if the intensive approach reduces infections within 90 days after surgery.
