First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding medication and counseling for alcohol use disorder to standard liver treatment helps people with severe alcohol-associated hepatitis stay sober and avoid liver complications. About 216 adults will receive either the extra alcohol treatment or usual advice. The study also compares a new drug (F-652) against prednisone for liver health. The goal is to improve survival and reduce the need for liver transplants.
